Magtein® (Magnesium L Threonate) is the only magnesium compound to effectively increase magnesium levels in the brain.

Magtein® was evaluated invivo against the most bioavailable forms of magnesium. After 24 days of supplementation, Magtein® was the only compound to significantly raise magnesium levels in the brain. The chemical structure of Magtein® allows it to cross the blood-brain barrier.

Magtein restores the prefrontal cortex synaptic density of the brain, which controls complex cognitive behavior, emotional response, executive reasoning, planning and decision making.

Meet the scientist

Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. in Physiological Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1990. He completed post-doctoral scientific training at Stanford University and held faculty positions at the Picower Institute of Learning and Memory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Tsinghua University. He is a world-renowned expert in synaptic physiology, learning, memory, and emotional control.

FAQ

Magtein is the patented, trademarked name for Magnesium L-threonate, which is a mineral salt of Magnesium and a brain bioavailable form of magnesium.

All raw materials are inspected and tested for quality and purity upon arrival at the warehouse, prior to blending and manufacturing. Magtein is manufactured in a GMP facility that is routinely audited by 3rd party (NSF and FDA). Once the capsules are manufactured and bottled, they are also tested for quality and purity before the goods are released to us for sale.

Most magnesium compounds available on the market have low bioavailability in the cognitive tissue because they cannot cross the blood brain barrier easily. Magtein is better absorbed than other magnesium compounds and has clinical research to show that it is highly effective in crossing the blood brain barrier unlike other magnesium agents. Magtein is well tolerated by the GI tract, unlike other magnesium compounds which can cause stomach upset and diarrhea. Clinical studies show that Magtein increases the number and density of synapses in the brain, which correlates with improved cognition.

Magnesium L-threonate is considered a synthetically manufactured mineral salt.

There have been no reported adverse effects to taking Magtein. As individual responses to supplementation may vary, always consult your physician before starting any dietary supplement. Keep out of reach of children, consult with a physician if pregnant or nursing and do not use if the safety seal is damaged or missing. Store in a cool, dry place.

It is recommended to consume Magtein within 30 minutes of eating a meal and with a full glass of water.

Since each person is unique, responses to supplementation can vary. Generally, it is recommended to divide the daily dosing into twice per day (morning and evening). Clinical trials are typically conducted with divided doses, so our recommendation is based on that. It also allows for flexibility based on the consumers’ preferences, lifestyle, individual health and circumstances.
